sony xperia ultra z

The Sony Experia Z Ultra is Sony’s latest smartphone. Running on the Android platform, the device can pass for both a phone and a tablet (so we call it a phablet). It boasts of a 6.4-inch HD display and is just 6.5mm thick, making it the slimmest smartphone in the market.

Now, let’s discuss the device at length…

The Sony Experia Z Ultra measures 180mm by 92mm; it will therefore be one the largest smartphones in market. It’s close in size to Samsung’s Galaxy Mega 6.3. So, it’s larger than the Samsung Galaxy Note II. It is a bit heavy, with a weight of 212g.

The device is a long rectangle with square corners, flat sides, and a sheet of tempered glass on both its front and back.

The most fascinating design feature of the Xperia Z Ultra is the fact that it is both water resistant and waterproof. It is also resistant to dust.

The Xperia Z Ultra’s 6.4-inch display is a full HD “Triluminos” display, which presents with a wider palette of colors.

Processor and memory

The device is packed with a 2.2 GHz quad core Snapdragon 800 processor by Qualcomm, and it has 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage (which is expandable with a micro SD card). The phone supports 4G connectivity.

Although the device is responsive to finger touch, the Xperia Z Ultra comes with a stylus that allows you to write and sketch on the screen. According to Sony, the device can recognize any handwriting that is made with a pencil or pen, if the tip diameter is more than 1mm.

The Xperia Ultra Z comes with an 8MP primary (rear) camera with Sony’s Exmor RS Sensor, and a 2MP secondary (front) camera. Because the phone is waterproof, it’s a perfect tool for taking underwater photos and videos.

The Xperia Ultra Z includes a large 3050 mAh battery and NFC-connectivity. This battery is not removable, though. So, if you’re used to carrying a spare battery, you won’t need one for this phone.
